$37,500 Awarded to Texas Youth Through the Certified Texas Bred Registry

The Certified Texas Bred Registry (CTBR) Program, an initiative of the Texas Pork Producers Association, proudly announces the awarding of $37,500 in scholarships to outstanding Texas youth in 2025. This significant investment underscores CTBR’s commitment to supporting the next generation of swine industry leaders.

The scholarships are distributed through three key programs:

  • CTBR Foundation Female Scholarship and Grant: Funded by proceeds from the sale of a donated foundation gilt at the Texas Elite Showcase, this program has contributed over $145,000 to youth since its inception. For 2025, the foundation female was donated by Cory and Lacey Rains of Rains Livestock in Fredericksburg. Recipients will each receive a $2,500 scholarship.

    • Sydney Miller – Abernathy
  • Scholars of Honor: This scholarship honors high school seniors who have actively participated in CTBR-sanctioned events. For the inaugural year of this scholarship, 14 seniors each received a $1,000 award.

  • Premier Exhibitor Scholarships: These scholarships are awarded to the top 10 exhibitors in the Premier Exhibitor program, with scholarships ranging from $500 to $3,000 based on rank. For 2025, over 530 exhibitors earned Premier Exhibitor points.
