The Certified Texas Bred Registry program was established to promote Texas bred and raised pigs. With the help of the Premier Exhibitor program, the association can recognize and award those exhibitors who raise & show Certified Texas Bred pigs.
About the program
The Premier Exhibitor Program was created to recognize and reward youth for their accomplishments within the show ring with Texas-bred pigs. As part of the Certified Texas Bred Registry, the program is represented at all Texas major barrow shows (State Fair of Texas, Fort Worth, San Angelo, San Antonio, Houston, and Austin), as well as the Texas' Elite Showcase gilt show.
Through the program, youth can qualify for scholarship opportunites and potentially recieve additional premiums. In addition, unique recognition through social media and association events is included to honor our exhibitors on their achievements.
Our youth are our future. The Premier Exhibitor program strives to celebrate and encourage exhibitors as they experience the joys of showing pigs at Texas majors.
Scholarship Opportunities
• In 2025, the Premier Exhibitor program looks forward to awarding over $40,000+ in scholarships to graduating seniors. For more information about scholarships, click here.

- Foundation Female Scholarship and Grant
- Certified Texas Bred Registry "Scholars of Honor"
- Premier Exhibitor Scholarship
Additional Premiums
• $100 premium is awarded to individuals exhibiting a CTBR Class Champion in each class of the barrow shows at the State Fair of Texas, Fort Worth Stock Show, San Angelo Livestock Show, San Antonio Livestock Exposition, Houston Livestock Show, and the Rodeo Austin .
• $64,200 was awarded during the 2024-2025 show season to Texas 4-H and FFA students.
• If an exhibitor earns Grand or Reserve Grand Champion at a Texas-major with a CTBR barrow, the program will award an additional $1,000. All CTBR Class Champions will be awarded a vinyl banner and CTBR Class Champion cap.
Awards and Recognition
• At the end of the show season, the program will reward the top exhibitors within the Premier Exhibitor points standings. Award winners will be invited to the Texas Pork Industry Conference to be recognized.
• Awards include, but are not limited to, custom banners, neon signs, jackets, caps, hoodies, buckles, and more.
• In addition, exhibitors will be featured on social media, the Producer Connection magazine, and our website.

How to participate?
• Buy your show pigs from a CTBR breeder!
• Exhibit your CTBR pig at a Texas Major Show and/or the State Fair of Texas!
• Become a TPPA member for additional benefits!
