Ken represents and serves as a spokesperson for the association with membership, industry and the public. He formulates and recommends basic policies, programs and budget to Officers and the Board based upon producer priorities. Ken maintains or initiates a good working relationship for contact or action as needed with the state and federal legislatures, government agencies, allied industry, educational institutions or the community in accordance with association policies and objectives. He fulfills and completes any programs, actions, and goals that the associations committees and members have brought forth.

Cassidy Smith served as the TPPA summer intern in 2007, 2008 and again in 2009 during her final semester at Tarleton State University. In December of 2009 she was hired on as the Director of Communications.

Cassidy is responsible for production and distribution of publications, articles, news releases and advertisements for the Association. Communication vehicles include; the Texas Pork Producer magazine, Spring Buyers Guide, Producer Update newsletters, TPPA website and Facebook page. Cassidy also assists with the preparation, scheduling and implementation of the Texas Pork Leadership Camp and the Texas Pork Industry Conference and Youth Symposium and various other meetings and activities.
